Mother and Daughter Trips in France

There’s something especially meaningful about traveling with your mom or daughter. I’ve taken many trips with my own mom, and each one has left us with lasting memories we both cherish. I’ve also had the pleasure of guiding several mother-daughter trips here in my region—experiences that have been just as special for me as they are for my clients.

Last spring, I guided two pairs of mothers and daughters through Occitanie, and both trips were incredibly rewarding.

The first was with Sara and her 10-year-old daughter, Cleo. We were lucky to have perfect spring weather—warm, sunny days followed by cozy evenings. Their itinerary focused on exploring hilltop villages, visiting a local farmer’s market (with a picnic in a secluded spot), and an invigorating hike that rewarded us with sweeping views at the finish. We also spent time in Toulouse, wandering the city and popping into local boutiques, where they discovered beautiful artisan pieces to bring home. I loved showing them some of my favorite hidden spots—it was such a joy to experience it all through their eyes.

The second trip was with Kathy and her daughter Jess, who had already spent a week in Paris and Normandy before heading south to finish their two-week journey in a place they knew nothing about—Occitanie. Based in the charming village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, we filled our days with adventures across the region, exploring picturesque villages and, of course, enjoying plenty of memorable meals. I booked them into some of my favorite restaurants, and they loved every single one.

Since they were especially interested in shopping for local goods, we made time for stops at carefully selected boutiques and antique shops along the way. Other highlights included a farmer’s market visit followed by a riverside picnic, an evening at a lively guinguette, a private tour of one of the oldest cathedrals in France, and an unforgettable Michelin-star dining experience. By the end of their stay, they truly felt immersed in local life in a region they hadn’t even heard of before.

Each of these trips was thoughtfully customized to match their interests and pace—balancing more active, adventure-filled days with moments of rest and relaxation, all while soaking in the rich culture of the region.

If you’re dreaming of a trip to France with your mom or daughter, I’d love to help you create something unforgettable—whether that’s a fully guided experience with me or a personalized, self-guided itinerary. Contact me for more info!
